Social Media NewsIn the ever changing world of Social Media you have to pay attention or you will be left in the dust.  No more do we have the newspaper to rely on to know what is going on!  I have my mother visiting for a little while at my house.  She doesn’t not know how to use a computer. She keeps trying to share news of things from back home but I keep saying “Oh, I know that already from Facebook!”  These days we can keep in touch with anyone we choose!

Here is the Social Media news from this week:

Pedigree was offering free dog food to bloggers who blogged about Pedigree’s adoption program.  Looks like a win-win to me!

I love this blog post by Billy McDonald called 6 Dinner Table Setting Steps for Optimizing Your Blog Posts. Those of us that are visual people it is a great visual on how to optimize  your posts to get the most out of them! So how do you set your SEO dinner table?

Do you feel like you have a voice in this world.  If you say no you need to read this post: How Social Medial Influence Reinstated a Popular Facebook Page. We can gather together and make a difference and let our voices be heard, after all this is Social Media!

SteupRightUpTweetPoster2This was a great week, full of Social Media news! Twitter seemed to be the highlight this week,  they are working on a lot of changes!  We have chosen just a few blog posts for you to see what has happened this week!

Did you know that Burglars use Facebook? Make sure you use extra caution with what you are saying on Facebook.

At Nokia World 2010 Twitter Vice President Kevin Thau says “Twitter is NOT a Social Network“.  You could have fooled me!!

Have you signed up for Digg and not used it much.  Do you know how to use it to your benefit?  Problogger has a great guess post this week: 4 Ways I Compose Posts to Drive Millions of Page views to Blogs Through Digg.

If you are on Facebook you know that it is constantly changing.  This is a good thing but often frustrating for users.  This week they have made a change that some people will really like.  When you have a friend request instead of ignore you can hit not now and this places the request into hidden requests.  This will allow you to come back and accept them as friends later.  If you want to read more about it go to the Mashable post Facebook to Change How You Process Friend Requests.

There was a lot of speculation about Twitter the beginning of the week.  Twitter had a large meeting all about changes.  The Socialnomic blog has indicated how all the changes Twitter is making is all about money!
